The Pulse tool is a live algorithm that sorts price action on the selected asset and chart timeframe into one of four possible categories:
in a strong uptrend
in an uptrend but correcting downwards
in a strong downtrend
in a downtrend but correcting upwards
The algorithm analyzes price to give accurate trend analysis regardless of the selected chart timeframe. Users can select which timeframes to analyze in each display by selecting the individual display and then selecting a timeframe from the dropdown list. When multiple selected timeframes show a strong trend in the same direction, users can confidently expect price to continue moving in that direction with minimal drawdowns.
Simply because price is trending in a direction, does not mean that price is currently moving in that direction. While supply and demand exceeding one another for sustained lengths of time cause trends to take place, buyers and sellers change dominance for various durations at different times within trends. This results in short-term price corrections in the opposite direction of the trend (exemplified by partially filled displays).
While this can be an early signal of a trend reversal, price most commonly continues in the direction of the trend after a correction. The more timeframes are still in a strong trend, the more likely trend continuation in that direction is for an individual timeframe.
