The Shift tool shows the percentage change of price on the selected timeframes. While Pulse accurately recognizes trends, trending markets do not always equate to significant price movement; price can take a long time to move a short distance even while trending.
Use Shift to quickly recognize the speed and direction of current price action and respond accordingly. On the output, red color coding denotes negative changes and green color coding denotes positive changes. Identify large or rapidly changing percentage moves on multiple timeframes in the same direction to spot breakouts and breakdowns with quick reaction times.
Consistent disagreement on direction across multiple timeframes can be a sign of choppiness in price action. Small percentage moves on longer timeframes are often a sign of low volatility or the inability of price to choose a direction to trend during the selected time period.
Shorter timeframes quickly increasing or decreasing in percentage change in the opposite direction of the longer timeframes are representative of reversals in price action.
